Once every three to four years, the leaders of the 34 democratically elected nations of the western hemisphere convene to discuss important issues that affect the lives of our citizens. On April 17-19, the Fifth Summit of the Americas will be held in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. President Obama will be there to listen to the region’s concerns, engage the region’s leaders, and participate in an active and productive dialogue.
